The MLHRA Monthly Meeting for April will be held at the Park Inn by Radisson on Thursday, April 25, 2019 with presentation and lunch beginning at noon. Please feel free to arrive early for networking and new member introductions at 11:30 am

Loads of smoked turkey breast, honey ham and crisp bacon topped with American and Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion on homemade Italian bread.


Spring Valley

Grilled marinated chicken breast and a roasted red pepper topped with melted Swiss cheese.


KWS Salad

Mescaline greens tossed with roasted red peppers, black olives, artichokes and then topped with fresh tomatoes and crumbled blue cheese. Option: Add grilled chicken.


Vegan Option

 Grilled Vegetables (Bell peppers, Red Onion and Broccoli) over Rice with soy sauce and sesame oil.

“Creating Cultures that Engage and Retain Millennials and Generation Z”

  • Recognize the characteristics of the newest generations in the workplace
  • Separate fact from fiction regarding what is important to each
  • Appreciate emotions that lead to engagement
  • Review DCT research findings
  • Learn more about engaging Millennials and begin preparing for Generation Z



Kathleen Himler, Dale Carnegie Area Manager

Current Role:

North Pittsburgh Area Manager for the Western Pennsylvania Dale Carnegie

Franchise. Responsible for working with clients to determine most suitable

solution for soft skill development which could include various components

such as onsite custom programs, digital subscriptions and participation in

public training courses.


Trainer Certification:

Certified in the Dale Carnegie Course; Effective Communications & Human

Relations, High Impact Presentations and Employee Engagement Specialist

Certification. Areas of focus include professional confidence, human

relations, communication, leadership and stress management. Dale Carnegie

trainer certification requires annual recertification.


Corporate Training Experience:

Winning with Relationship Selling with Dale Carnegie, Strategic Solutions with

AT&T Corporation and Customer Centric Selling with NCR Corporation


Industry Experience:

Telecommunications, manufacturing, medical, government, hospitality, retail,

construction, education, services


Client Experience:

Fortune 500 with both vertical and solution specialization. Current clients

include Duquesne Light Company, Eat n Park, Gilberts Risk Solutions, Allied

Machine & Engineering Company and Hunter Truck Sales.



Married to Alan Himler since 1991 with two sons, Garrett, 23, and Austin, 21.

Has resided in Pittsburgh PA for 30 years, originally from Mount Vernon, New

York in Westchester County



Bachelors Business Administration, Hofstra University, NY 1986
